North Shore Initial Response Trust
Every week we voluntarily train to prepare for disasters when emergency services require additional support in searches for missing people, sandbagging to protect properties from flooding, and helping limit damage to people and properties following events such as tornadoes, storms and tsunamis. As a group of volunteers, we are not paid for any of this activity. Since the equipment is exposed to extreme weather events and difficult environments, it regularly needs to be replaced. There is some vital equipment we are in need of in order to be able to continue our dedicating our time to helping keep people safe. VOTE NOW!
Riverton Community Garden Project
Our goal is to create a self-funding, sustainable food producing garden that can eventually start to give back to those most in need within our community, such as struggling families, and the elderly. We rely on various age groups to look after the garden, including the Riverton Primary School, Aparima College (local high school) and Riverton Childcare and other local volunteers. We are seeking funding to establish infrastructure to support the garden for many years to come. VOTE NOW!

I am supporting a cat colony in papamoa. Just wondering if anyone is willing to donate dry food, I am trying to support them as much as I can but need a little extra help, I do have a poster, there is one at the papamoa village vets, money donations towards desexing, health checks etc are also welcome and can go into the papamoa village vets account. Thank you all so much so far for the donations, it is making a lot of difference for me and the cats, I have two rescues of my own. It can be a struggle sometimes but I'm coping :) ❤️ Much love and thank you. You can comment or pm me if you are able to donate and possibly drop off or I can pick up locally in papamoa

Hi community, I would just like to take a minute to share my wife's small business. Mind- Body - Sea- Relaxation Massage, you can find her clinic at 1040B Papamoa Beach Rd and have likely driven past the sign! Massages very reasonably priced and well worth your time :-) - Cheers Andrew

Youth & Search Rescue Trust - Tauranga
14 to 18 year old students from the whole Bay of Plenty are trained in volunteering and helping rescue people. This organisation receives no government funding and relies on grants and donations to train these amazing young people. VOTE NOW!
Seddon Community and Neighbourhood Support Group
Seddon is our small rural township located to the south of Blenheim on SH1. Rocked and devastated (again) by the quakes in November 2016. With the loss of access to Christchurch via the Main North Line, and SH 1, we are at the “end of the line”. Every one of our self employed residents has taken a huge hit, many of whom can no longer support themselves especially with the removal of all emergency funding as of the 14th February. we are hoping to be able to provide to the whole community, access to essential first aid kits at reasonable and affordable costs to all the residents. It is for this initiative we are seeking some funding in order to subsidise these kits. VOTE NOW!!

I've just seen a golden coloured dog, looks like a greyhound or greyhound cross, wandering alone on Orion Drive, Welcome Bay. He has something hanging from his colour, looks like part of a lead or rope, so may have broken it to get away from where he was secured and wandered off.

Then i think we all should be aware that the council is spending 700,000
dollars of your money in consulting on the new building and the new museum that has not been approved and was not even discussed as part of the elections. There are approximately 40,000 rate payer so you have just paid $17.50 to the council for nothing let alone the millions these two projects will cost. Do you also notice that once a councilor gets elected you never hear from them again.Inflation at less than 2% and rates goodness knows where to next. I have a cousin in auckland who lives in St Heliers and his rates are less than mine and all rubbish is included. Makes you think. TAURANGA COUNCIL IS OUT OF CONTROL
