Hi Neighbours.

I recently developed an app that allows you to notify everyone in a 350 meter radius of you that you have an emergency; after pressing the button it then prompts to call emergency services. You may be feeling intimidated, or a fire has broken out and you need lots of hands, or you may have a medical emergency and need urgent assistance. On pressing the button, your GPS location will be shared with your name so people can come to your rescue.

Often neighbours can respond much quicker than emergency services, but your first instinct is to call emergency services first; this can do both.

You can download the app at www.adm.co.nz...

Many thanks
Barry

What does it take to want to learn something new... perhaps interest, need, want, curiosity or a deep desire to better one's life or exploring new tools and techniques for personal development and self improvement. The next Rebirthing /Breathwork group meeting date is now set for Saturday the 19th June from 2-4pm in Tauranga, so if you are interested to perhaps join me at this event, please join this group below. The group is called Meetup Group "Tauranga Self Exploration via Rebirthing/ Breathwork" www.meetup.com............. I am inviting everyone to be part of this group who is suffering from anxiety, depression, abuse or addiction, stress or simply having breathing problems. This meetup group which is presently growing will conduct regular group meetings in the application and experience of breathwork. It is fundamentally a breathing technique which helps to connect to often underlying and less conscious causes of stress and to help to resolve or remove them using the breathing itself as the tool and helper. The term Rebirthing here has no religious affiliation but more so one of being in spirit, inspired and inspirational to remove obstacles of trauma in its many forms from our life so we may live a life with much more freedom and peace and compassion. Something we all could do with some more in times like these. You need to join my group first before you can attend any future event. Looking forward to meeting you. If you have done some breathwork sessions before or attended a workshop these group meeting still can be very valuable to anyone who knows about the breath and its gifts and secrets it holds. See you soon. Peter PS. Breath is life (the breath of life) and better breathing brings about a better life overall. See you soon.

Tauranga activist Colleen Spiro remembered as 'warrior for the needy'
A "warrior for the needy and disadvantaged" and a "relentless" woman who fought for people who couldn't fight for themselves.

That's how Tauranga activist and community volunteer Colleen Spiro is being remembered after her death on Sunday, aged 67.

She had long-term health battles but her passing came as a shock to some who loved her.

Spiro was known for her many efforts to help Tauranga's homeless as well as for being outspoken on various council issues, speaking up for Māori and protesting against racism.

This year's event runs from March 20 - 30th with the theme being 'The Great Plant Swap' as an easy way for neighbourhoods to grow stronger together.

Here's some ideas for ways you could get involved:

• swap seeds with a neighbour
• gift a plant you've grown to a neighbour
• take some flowers to a neighbour
• organise a produce swap
• share garden tips or recipes for food in season
• create community gardens or berm pollinator pathways
• host an inclusive garden-themed working bee
• a friendly neighbourhood BBQ with homegrown ingredients

The options are endless! At the end of the day, our shared aim is to help bring people together by encouraging intentional connection with our neighbours. Whether that be organising a street party, sharing a cuppa, or simply saying ‘Kia Ora!” to those who live around you, every action helps to create a safer and more connected New Zealand.

The Benefits of Buying Locally

Want to put your money where your heart is? Locally made products come with a whole lot of benefits - typically higher quality and greater attention to detail being in the top two.

The face behind the product had a dream of starting up on their own, knew in their heart of hearts it was a great product (or service) and believed it could help others. So, they took some risks, took over the dining table, made lots of mistakes, thought about the business day and night - but always kept going. Here are some decent reasons to shop local...

Boosting the local economy: Seventy per cent of all NZ Enterprises are sole traders. That's a big number. But purchasing locally doesn't just build an economic future for small businesses, it’s an economic confidence that spills out into other areas in life and the community.

Customer service: Buy locally and you are sure to receive a customer service above the ordinary. Plus, it's always reassuring to know you can call a local number if somethings amiss or not quite right.

Feel good factor: Knowing that your money lands in the lap of a local business with integrity and passion creates that lovely feel-good factor. You can see the love in the product, the packaging, the personal notes.

Customised goods = meeting consumer needs: More often than not you are talking to the maker directly so selecting a specific colour or changing out something is more likely to happen.
