Bethlehem Ward Candidate Tauranga Elections 2024

Bevan from Judea

Kia Orana, Bevan Rakoia here, I am standing for the Bethlehem Ward at this 2024 Tauranga Local Elections. Since my decision to put my hand up, I have wondered why the ward is not called Bethlehem/Judea. I am raised in Judea on Chester Street and moved up on Cambridge Road just before the first COVID Lockdown. I remember walking to school daily to Otumoetai College and Otumoetai Intermediate, I still ask myself why the local parks in our suburbs have been neglected, Chester Street, 2 swings and one seesaw, I think its been like this from the day 1. It is amazing the growth around Judea since the 80's. I would prefer to spend the next weeks running around Judea and meeting with the neighbours. Happy to connect and share opinions by email bev_a_lev@yahoo.com, or mobile phone 0274612127 or message via Neighbourly. Speak soon. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
