Looking for volunteers for our Remembrance Tree Appeal
We are looking for interested helpers – from individuals, to clubs, teams and or workmates to help people in our community write messages for loved ones that can't be with them this Christmas in exchange for a donation. If you have a few hours to spare in November and/or December and would like to spend them doing something rewarding, we invite you to sign up to help us look after our Remembrance Trees.
We are looking for friendly, positive people to help others in our community leave a special message for a loved one in several different locations.
Choose a date, time and place that suits you by simply completing the registration form on our website.

What is the Remembrance Tree Appeal?
Everyone has memories of loved ones they have lost or who can’t be with them during the holiday season. Every Christmas we have Remembrance Trees specially put up around the community. For a small donation you and your family and friends can write a special message to share with loved ones or those that can’t be here with you this Christmas.
Look out for our Remembrance Tree’s in your area – or get involved and Volunteer.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
