The nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert system is happening this Sunday between 6pm and 7pm.
No need to sign up or download an app. Just check your phone is on them list of capable makes and models and ensure your updates are up to date.

The alerts will be launched at the end of this year, and are another tool in the Civil Defence toolbox that will help keep people safe in the event of an emergency. You don't have to sign up for it or download an app – the alerts will appear on compatible phones without you having to do anything.
A nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert system is happening between 6pm and 7pm on Sunday, November 26.

The event was part of the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs initiative, and recognised the achievements and celebrated the success of trainees and apprentices who had completed their study in a variety of fields.
More than 55 local employers were also recognised for supporting the trainees and teaching them skills that will equip them well for the future.
