Christmas is a Season
North it comes in Winter
South it comes in Summer
Whenever it falls
To one and all it calls
To glory in the manger Child
In stable so meek, so mild
God's Gift to us for a Reason.

So during this festive season
let us all try to see the world ...
...through the...
Eyes Of A Child ...

Through the eyes of a child
the world is full of wonder
Through the eyes of a child
it’s sunshine, rain or thunder
Through the eyes of a child
life’s just an endless game
Through the eyes of a child
there’s only adults to blame
Through the eyes of a child
it’s school days and fun days
Through the eyes of a child
it’s fascinating always
Through the eyes of a child
it’s beach, buckets and sand
Through the eyes of a child
life’s so easy to understand
now what about us – you and me
where’s our eyes of a child
we live life so fast, never free
to take those eyes of a child
and quantify life to really see
letting imagination run wild
so take a break today, just be
lost in the eyes of a child …

A display outlining the causes of fatalities on our roads has taken centre stage behind the library.

Taupō District Councillor Kevin Taylor paid tribute to those who are no longer with us, reminding us all to take more care on the roads with the increased amount of Christmas travellers on our roads.

“With the holidays on us and the joy of Christmas next week, consider that this year the Taupō road toll stands at 20. That’s 20 people not here for Christmas or the new year. They represent families, Whānau, communities, and work places that have a gap they left.

There is a graphic display behind the Taupō library outlining this cost. Remember we all share the roads and the responsibility for using them safely.

I trust you have a blessed and safe Christmas.”

Pictured: Taupō District Council road safety coordinator Sarah Wraight, Cr Kevin Taylor and Taupō District Council transportation asset manager Claire Sharland at the display.
