On Friday a warm northwest flow in a front was affecting Fiordland, particularly south of the glaciers. "Another front moves up onto the Fiordland area tonight and that basically moves northwards and with it, heavy rain basically slides northwards during Saturday." Heavy rain would mostly affect Westland and Buller significantly on Saturday.
People are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecasts as this event is expected to extend into Sunday and further areas are likely to be added. Please plan your travel and keep safe on the roads.
