Lynmore Playcentre first opened in September 1966, and in January 1967 it was recognised by the Auckland Association. It was 10yrs before they moved out of the scout hall and other temporary premises and into an old house moved on to a public reserve. Early in 1977 the new building was opened with a roll of 11 children. Lynmore Playcentre currently has 24 families enrolled with sessions running Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
