Using my last month's readings, I found Energy Club would have cost me $2.40… View moreI keep seeing ads for Energy Club NZ and found their pricing model interesting, so thought I'd try their savings calculator (energyclubnz.com...) to see what savings I'd be likely to achieve if I switched.
Using my last month's readings, I found Energy Club would have cost me $2.40 (1.3%) more for the month.
Curiously, their "electricity at cost" prices were higher than my current provider for inclusive (3.53 cents higher per kWh) and controlled (4.47 cents higher per kWh). I compared GST inclusive prices. Kinda makes one question their claimed point of difference, being that they don't add markup like other companies do.
Their daily club fee is certainly a lot lower than my provider's daily charge, but not enough to counter the higher kWh charges.
