Meet Sharlene Peri (Te Uri o Tai, Tainui) who shares “Studying at Awanuiārangi felt like being at home on my marae. It is welcoming, the facilities are exceptional (the library is incredible!) and it became a safe space to learn and grow.

I wanted a degree that would give me a relevant qualification with which to pursue whānau, hapū and iwi gains. From day one on the Humanities degree programme, I was blown away by the calibre, expertise and knowledge of the lecturers. I also appreciated having the flexibility of choosing a Major in policy or indigenous business”

Natural Dog, Cat, Pet Flea Powders
Our Dog Flea Powder has three functions
* Deter and kill fleas, ticks, lice
* Deodorise and clean without bathing
* Relieve itch

The cat flea powder is similar but without the anti-itch oils. It also has calendula powder added for soothing, and is also a gentle discinfectant along with the Apple Cider Vinegar powder. Other Ingredients include: Organic starches, Diatemaceous Earth, Kaolin and Bentonite clays. It is possible to use DE on its own but it has a chalky sticky feel. This powder feels quite smooth.
We have noticed over the years that older dogs can get quite smelly.
Our Holly is now around 11 years and can get quite 'pongy' especially around the head, neck and ears. I was very happy with the instant deodorising effect from using the dog flea powder on her. The starch powders have the effect of absorbing excess oil, and the clays and DE are naturally odor absorbing. I found putting it on my hand and smoothing it across better than sprinkling it onto her, made less dust that could be inhaled.
I dont recommend over bathing dogs, as it can dry out their coats even with the mildest of soap or shampoo. It can sometimes be quite stressful for some older dogs.
These powders could also be used on other pets such as hens. rabbits, guinea pigs etc.
Caution: The Diatemaceous Earth has a warning on it not to be inhaled, so care when applying it is needed.
