Saturday 7 August – 11 December, 11.00-12.30. A weekly session starting from the beginning of the 108 move set

Mosaic workshop with artist Maria Middlebrook-Wells (Dip VA)

I have a range of mosaic backers (butterflies, bees, heart, tui and fantail) to choose from an two mirror sizes but you have a smaller item like a terracotta pot or saucer flat edge mirror etc you wish to mosaic I am all into recycling and revamping second hand items so you can bring them along.

Learn how to use variety mosaic tools and materials

You will go home with a finished piece of artwork (depending on size and complexity) and the ability to create your own pieces at home.

Morning and afternoon tea will be provided just bring your own lunch.

Parents and children from 10 years and upwards welcome

Suitable for beginners through to some experience.

All basic materials as well as tools/safety equipment will be provided in a heated modern studio. Extra will be charged for more expensive tiles and decorations or for those doing larger projects.

Fees $130 ( for one day $220 for the weekend)

New speed limits to slow down SH6 from Hope to Wakefield

Last week, Austria Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler announced that as of 2022, an Austria-wide repair bonus will be introduced for electrical and electronic devices. Repairs will be subsidised up to 50% of the costs for a maximum of 200 €.
I can't imagine that happening in NZ - but we can always push for something as well as supporting Consumer NZ's Built to Last campaign. NZ is in the top 4 countries in the world for e-waste - 20kg per person per annum. :-(.

Our usual sewing… View moreThe next NTCF Repair Cafe being held in Nelson is at Restore, 166 Tahunanui Drive on 17th July. 10am to 1pm. We have a slightly wider range of volunteer repairers this month including two people who will be able to help with hardware and software issues on computers, plus phones. Our usual sewing folk will be present including arts/craft/up cycling/general mending and an upholsterer; plus - an electrician, the wonderful Waimea Mens Shed guys to help with wood work issues, small furniture repairs, wooden toy repairs etc. Bike repairs and leather stitching are also part of the day.
We ask for Koha as we need $100 to pay for our room rent.

If you are approaching from the Richmond direction we recommend you make a u-turn at Westdale Road.

Bring gloves, spade if you have one and drinking water. Wear solid footwear and clothes suitable for the weather conditions. Morning tea will be provided. All volunteers are welcome and there are jobs other than digging.

If the weather is not good, we will cancel by 8am on the day. However, if it is just doubtful or light rain we will go ahead.

Our next planting day is Sunday18th July at Research Orchard Road
