Representatives from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra visited Whitney Street School this morning ahead of their September performances called 'Tuia - An Instrumental Journey' which has been put together for Tuia 250.

There was a combination of European and traditional Māori instruments.

One of New Zealand’s leading Taonga PΕ«oro specialists, Horomona Horo, explained to the children about the Māori instruments, and how NZ is now a multi-cultural society with music from around the world.

The performance will be an awesome experience to hear how Taonga PΕ«oro and the orchestra sound together!
