I was waiting to drive straight ahead, southwards, at the BP roundabout yesterday morning. As I accelerated, a young man on a bicycle overtook me on the left, going straight ahead as I went left a little to negotiate the roundabout. Because I didn't see him until it was nearly too late, I nearly hit him.
Past Francis Xavier school, I was able to drive alongside him, and told him that what he had done was not a good idea, and he said "You weren't indicating".
At the next roundabout, he was still ahead of me, and he did the same thing to another car .... which then indicated left and abruptly turned into DressSmart. The cyclist had to take evasive action very quickly!!
The point is, if you're on a cycle, and you're going the same speed as a car, then just act like a car. Own the lane! Don't overtake on the left (I thought that was illegal anyway) because car drivers like me just won't see you. I do not want to watch a cyclist get knocked off and run over.

Did you know Benny has been found safe? He was miraculously found alive after spending nine days lost during a storm. About 1000 searchers and a helicopter were used in the search. To read more, click here.

This cat has been spotted in our garage and we found out why today. We have found 2 lovely kittens in there and the mysterious tortoiseshell is their mother. We can't look after the kittens so it's important we try and find the mother's owner as the kittens belong to them and the SPCA won't help until we have made sure there is no owner. When they do get involved they will want to take the mother too if we can't find her owner so even if the owner doesn't want the kittens we need to find them so as not to accidentally have their pet collected.

We will have honey stocks of Helen's creamed Clover, Bush and Manuka/Bush, along with liquid (runny) Meadow and Manuka/Bush. Our 600g pots of Manuka/Bush come in at $3.00 per 100g and our 900g pots (all other stock) come in at $1.76 per 100g - great value when compared to supermarket prices and such good quality that Helen puts her phone number on every label.
Tawa Lions gratefully acknowledges the support of Outlet City in providing the venue for our Market.
