Our garden is not just about tulips though. We have designed several small gardens within the whole so you can see topiaries, a long border, Mediterranean slope, French courtyard, mini meadow, herb garden, vegetable beds, citrus and other fruit trees, Asian courtyard, and a tropical styled jungle.

I am a sweet dog looking for my forever home. I am looking for a very special home that can understand my quirks and needs. A home that can help me thrive and be the best companion I can be. My ideal home would be one that has had previous large dog experience and or greyhound. I walk beautifully on a lead but in saying that I would need a home that can handle me as I can be strong when I want. I have had a fair amount of training from my previous home but there is always room for more growth. I am super smart and a lover of all yummy foods so will pick up new things very quickly. I can be shy when meeting new people so I would love a quiet patient home that can read when I am not comfortable. A home with no children. I could live with an older settled male dog but in saying this I am used to having my own space. I am not suited to a home with cats or any small animals."

Dozens of community volunteers joined Word Wide Fund for Nature and Porirua City Council staff to plant native trees and plants below Kenepuru Drive. The school holidays brought a number of children with their families down to help, in warm and overcast weather.
Carex, flax, toitoi, lemonwoods and other plants were put in the ground as part of Project #ReBlossomNZ, a collaboration led by Botanica by Air Wick and WWF, working with Ngāti Toa and Porirua, Wellington City, and the regional councils.
All up, about 6600 plants have gone in to provide shade and help prevent pollutants from the nearby roads and state highways enter the stream, which flows into the harbour. The stream supports six species of native fish: longfin and shortfin eels, giant kōkopu, inanga, redfin, and common bullies.
Porirua Mayor Anita Baker said it was great to see the turnout last week and was confident of continuous community involvement.
While the recent lockdown and current alert levels curtailed some public participation, there will be ample opportunities in the coming five years for people to get their hands in the soil.
“We’ve set aside $600,000 for riparian planting in our recent Long-term Plan, so this is important for our Council and our city,” Mayor Baker said.
“These plantings are a big step towards rejuvenating our precious harbour and, with many more harbour-related projects in the pipeline, I’m sure the community will help us along the journey.”
Ngāti Toa Treaty and Strategic Relationships General Manager Naomi Solomon acknowledged the significance of the waterway to Ngāti Toa, having historically been used for mahinga kai (food gathering areas).
“The collective planting efforts will go far in providing protection for the stream bed and raising awareness in the community around kaitiakitanga of our natural environment,” she said.

The pipe caused significant disruption after failing twice during heavy rainfall in July 2021. The replacement is part of a permanent 100-year life solution that will allow for growth in the area.
As communities grow and change it's important that we have a safe, reliable and long lasting water network.

"Artemis (or Arty) has done an amazing job at settling in. She's super curious and interested in everything going on - I've never had a cat who watches TV before and attacks it! She especially loves it when my boyfriend plays Call of Duty, she gets very involved. She also loves to play a lot and she's not fussy at all with toys.
This week especially she's started vocalising a with me a lot, she chirps and brrrrs away at me while purring up a storm. She's so cuddly! She loves to be carried all over the house and snuggle up on my shoulders. At night after she's finished her zoomies, she likes to sneak in under the blankets to be the little spoon. We're very happy with her, and she seems to be very happy in her new home too."
