I can be a little wary in new situations and meeting new people, so would love an experienced and patient home. One that has the time to put in the extra training I need as I have not had much. I am very food motivated so will pick things up quickly. I can be very puppy like when comfortable around my people so require a home with older teenagers or an only adult home, one that is confident around larger than life personalities. The team here have mixed me with other dogs, so I could go to a home with an existing dog. One that is social and has a similar play style to me. A dog that is happy to share their space and their humans. I have yet to be cat tested. If you think I am the dog for you please contact the canine team for more information."

If yes to any of these questions, then please see our buyers this week. We will buy single items or complete collections.
The recent lockdown has seen many of us take the time to sort items we no longer require or simply want to turn into cash.
We are currently very short of stock and keen to buy any of these or similar items.
Please see us at any of the multiple venues in the Wellington area.

Our nurses have valuable advice about symptoms, treatments, support groups and post-surgery options.
The breast care nurses have visual and hands-on displays of breast cancer symptoms that most women won’t have seen before, and will use prosthetic breasts to show what a lump feels like.
We are currently touring the Porirua and Wellington regions with the Pink Caravan. Our breast nurses would love to have a chat to you, so check out where the Caravan is headed and when it comes to a town near you, pop in and say hi.
- On 1 November, our team of breast care nurses will park the Pink caravan in Porirua for the day at Countdown store (Cnr Parumoana St & Lyttleton Avenue, Porirua)
- On 3 November, the Pink caravan will be parked in Tawa for the day at New World store (35 Oxford Street, Tawa, Wellington)
- On 10 November, the Pink caravan will be parked in Tawa for the day at Countdown store (5 William Earp Place, Tawa, Wellington)

SUPPORTED LIVING NEEDED BUT NOT REALLY?
We are seeking a whānau / family or single person who is open to welcoming our amazing 18-year-old girl into their home and life. This is a unique situation where she is now of an age where she needs to move forward and beyond foster care. BUT she still needs to be cared for and about, like any other 18-year-old. She is an exceptional young woman, and you could make the difference for her.
This is what she has told us to share with you:
I have just turned 18 and spent most of my life in care. I am told I am brave, funny, kind, thoughtful, a bit complicated, and focussed. I can be very mature but am also anxious about what is ahead of me. I love my whakapapa and keen to learn more. I am affectionate and caring. I am intelligent and capable but have so much to learn in life and I find this scary.
I want to be fully independent one day, but I am not quite ready for that just yet. I have missed a lot of the things that get us ready as children, to become independent but I am proud of how much I have achieved (as are my foster parents!). I am working part time in Porirua; I have my own car. I am good at spending time alone at home and am trustworthy. I am learning to cook; I take care of my personal space and am getting better at managing my own money as I know I will need to pay board and bills. I have pets that I adore – 3 little mice and a bird who I love and who I take full personal responsibility for. I really hope they can come with me to my next home.
Our girl is looking for a family to call her own and a place to call her home. She wants to feel welcomed into a whānau so she can prepare for independence and when she does leave home, she feels she can always come back if she needs advice, to attend family events like Christmas and birthdays, and those family dinners! She is open to living with a couple, a family with other children (preferably older children), or a single person. While she can take care of herself extremely well, she needs a caring eye to watch out for her and guide her.
It is important to her that she is noticed, and you are genuinely interested in her and her future and that you commit to her long term. Remember, she wants a warm genuine long-term connection that is ‘not’ a job for someone.
Please don’t be shy to pick up the phone to talk to our team who know our girl extremely well. We can tell you more about her, and about the supports that will be available to you which will include:
- Board payments
- Social work and other support
- Engaging with our wider team

OUR YOUNG PEOPLE DESERVE THE BEST!
CAN YOU MAKE ‘THE’ DIFFERENCE?
We believe if you have compassion, maturity and exceptional commitment and we provide you with experienced and quality professional support.... together ‘we’ can make the difference! We are seeking committed, passionate, energetic, and grounded youth mentors to support our young people aged 12 to 16 in foster care during and after school, and on weekends. Number of hours vary.
Can you set boundaries and stick to them? Provide outstanding role modelling to young people? Be highly self-motivated? Be ready for a prompt start? Do you have the energy to spend one on one time with an individual young person and provide positive influence? Our young people have had many challenges in life, not of their doing, and this means they struggle to find their place in the world. Our mentors are their to support them as they find their way.
You will need:
- A full driver’s license.
- Your own car/car insurance.
- To pass police and Oranga Tamariki checks
- Knowledge of supporting youth who have challenges.
Feel free to call us and have a chat to find out more and request an application pack.
