Telco has introduced a new technology which screens incoming calls. Looking like a normal home phone, unknown callers have to announce their name and the receiver can then decide whether to accept or block the call.

Results from a trial showed that of all calls received, about 30 per cent were nuisance or scam calls, of which 98 per cent were blocked.
