Pedestrians must give way to traffic - the central refuge is to help pedestrians safely cross busy roads.
If you are a pedestrian:
• Wait until the road is clear to cross
• The central refuge is a place to stop safely midway and assess when you can cross further
• Give way to cars and be alert.
If you are driving:
• Slow down and be aware
• Expect pedestrians at these crossings
• Stay alert, especially on Kenepuru Drive as it's a busy construction zone.
