Over the weekend someone broke into my house to gain access to the garage. They stole my lawnmower which is an unusual brand, Toro. It is red and has a canvas catcher. If anyone sees a second hand one for sale please report to police or message me. thanks

The 2019 annual Kapiti Rapid attracted 33 competitors, one of the biggest fields in recent years for this tournament, which first started 20 years ago. It was a stronger field including current New Zealand champions, IM’s Russell Dive and Anthony Ker, former NZ champion FM Scott Wastney and 18 year old WIM Layla Timergazi.
But arguably the big feature of the day was the successful running of the inaugural Kapiti Chess Club Schools Championship. This tournament is aimed at promoting and supporting Junior Chess on the Kapiti Coast and surrounding regions and developing our players for the future. The format provided a great opportunity for school students to compete against each other in a friendly and fun environment. This year saw 20 juniors competing from 11 schools, including teams from Levin to Wellington. The youngest competitor, Max Wang, was only 6 years old!
Kapiti College took the Kapiti Chess Club School Championship trophy for winning the team event. Paraparaumu student and Kapiti Chess Club member Hamish Lester, was clear winner in the Individual College Division.
The big winners on the day:
Kapiti Rapid A Grade - FM Scott Wastney (Wellington Chess Club)
Kapiti Chess Club School Championship
Team Winner - Kapiti College (Noah Corbett, Blake Toloa Hewitt, Tim Pringle & Elliot Renison)
Individual Winner (College Division) - Hamish Lester (Paraparaumu College)
Individual Winner (11-12 years) - Zac Li & Ben Guo (Hutt Intermediate School)
Individual Winner (10 & under) - Sravya Moparthi (Hutt Central)
