We use licensed real estate professionals with knowledge in your area to help you obtain what your property is really worth.

Whatsmyhousevalue.co.nz is a free website providing estimates through real estate agents. Algorithms don’t see value in important things such as views, parking, extra garaging, gardens, etc. Emotional buyers will bring you more money. An experienced agent can help identify these and provide you with a written current market appraisal (CMA) based on your individual property.

Last night’s guest speaker was Jamie McAulay, son of President-elect Bill, who Zoomed in from his home in Te Anau.

Jamie works for DoC as a Biodiversity ranger, a job that he thoroughly enjoys. It involves a lot of fieldwork in remote parts of Fiordland, in rugged bush country. The mission is to ‘save the iconic kiwi’ and the target is a 2% annual growth in the kiwi population.

This is proving difficult because of predation, mainly by the dreaded stoat. In fact, over the last three years, none of the kiwi chicks hatched in Jamie’s area of study have survived.

Jamie’s team uses tiny radio transmitters and trail cameras to keep track of adult and young kiwis, and the stoats, possums, and keas that harass them.

Chicks hatch around August after 80 days incubation, but can’t defend themselves until they are 20 weeks old.

The solution is predator control. Trapping is not viable in such steep country, but 1080 poison drops are effective when the weather allows. These are done by helicopters using GPS for targeting.

Hi there, I am once again getting organized to put together pamper packs (shoebox size) for the Womens Refuge. I did this last year and got about 15 packs & 10 boys/girls activity packs done and distributed.
I am seeking donations of women's hygiene products ie: sanitary, body wash, razors, toothbrushes (also boys/girls) toothpaste, wipes, deodorants, body lotion, shampoo/conditioner, makeup / makeup bags, chocolates, etc
For the boys/girls I had activity book, pencils, note books, hair ties for girls, matchbox cars for boys, bubble wands, stickers, chocolate bars, etc
My aim is to double the packs for all this xmas, I drop them off week before Xmas to Womens Refuge. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated (not just by me but the women who use Womens Refuge) :)
Easier to contact me on 027 414 6779, I can collect items if that suits, thanks xx

Digger Operator Layton is removing an old air valve block on the bulk water main running from Naenae Reservoir. The team put in a new, bigger air valve (replacing the one just visible in the wooden chamber) then constructed a new concrete chamber and manhole cover for better service and maintenance access.
