Wellington Weather is warning that bad weather is on the way and some area should expect flooding.
Strong winds are expected in the afternoon and evening gusting to 110km/ph.
The weather system is expected to bring down the temps into the low to mid-teens. After yesterday’s flash flooding in Plimmerton, this rain could cause more flooding in the same areas, but also in other areas that typically experience flooding such as Pahautanui, Waiwhetu and Basin Reserve.
If you are prone to flooding and have some flooding in the past, best to prepare as a precaution.

There is a move to introduce water meters across the region.
A Wellington Water report recommended the region spend $144 million on infrastructure which would allow it to record and report on residents' daily-water usage, in a bid to encourage residents to save water and prevent drought-like shortages.
Porirua Mayor Anita Baker said she supported the introduction of universal water meters.
The current system, which saw people with swimming pools pay the same amount for water as a small single-person household, was unfair, she said.
What do you think?
Please put NFP if you do not want your comments used in a Stuff publication.

If you can offer me a wonderful life I would like to meet you. I seem to like the other cats I live with, and I really get on with Wendy, so if you were looking for a pair of cats, maybe you could consider both of us? We would do best in a quiet home, but once settled I will make a wonderful member of your family."

Porirua-based police will soon be moving into new premises situated at 19 Heriot Drive Porirua.
Kapiti Mana
Area Commander Inspector Tracey Thompson said the
old Hagley Street station has served the community well since the 1960s, but it is time for a modern station which enables a better service to be delivered to our local community.

Staff will move into the new hub over the weekend of 6 December 4 to 6.
The Porirua Police Hub will be operational from Monday 7 December 2020.

From next Saturday December 5 to Sunday 6 December, the front counter (at the old station) will be closed to members of the public for walk-in reports until Monday morning (at the new station).
Aside from the closure of the old station, there will be no noticeable change to local police service levels while the move takes place. Frontline staff will still be responding to emergency calls, conducting reassurance patrols and business as usual.

Ahead of the relocation, a blessing ceremony of the new site will take place next Thursday December 3 with Ngāti Toa Rangatira Iwi and local police.
