Please don't attempt to remove or straighten these trees yourself as you may put yourself at risk of injury or damaging property. Get a professional to come and evaluate the condition of your trees, and recommend what should be done. Trees rely on friction to stand up and with the saturated soils that we have at the moment, trees that look stable may have started to move within the ground, so get a professional arborist to come and look at you trees, to put your mind at rest.

Upcycling is the term used for taking a preloved item and transforming it - whether it's for a new purpose altogether, or just to give it an ‘extreme makeover'. Consider using the school holidays to get Upcycling with the smaller members of your household - or use the next rainy day to drag out the paint and your creativity!

In the meantime, check out some of the creative cookies from last year.

Here we have Water Serviceperson Whare in Ngaio at work on a leaking main. It’s hard to make him out under all that gear but to be fair, it was pretty wet and cold.
So to all our crews working on the frontline this winter, every day, in all kinds of weather, thanks for your hard work to keep our three waters flowing, our drinking water, stormwater and wastewater (including hot showers!). Your work is appreciated.
