So, I spent a weekend hitting the open homes and seeing what it's like to try to buy as a solo person. Folks, it's tough out there... As an older, single person, it's really tough. Take a look at how I found "the churn" and let me know how it compares to your experience.

April Sherman has graduated from a gruelling 14 weeks of training at RNZAF Base Woodbourne.
In 2021, the Hobsonville resident takes on safety and surface trade training- learning to keep aircraft equipment in peak condition.
The 46-year-old spent the past eight years in Australia, some of the time mining in Western Australia.
Family brought her back to New Zealand in 2019, and the chance sighting of an Air Force P-3K2 Orion re-ignited her life-long career dream.
“I lost my dad suddenly at the beginning of last year to cancer, so my priority was to find a job back in New Zealand and take care of my mum,” Sherman said.
“I was too shy as a school leaver back in 1992 to join.
"But I saw an Orion flying above Hobsonville one day after work last year and that rekindled the desire to look at the Air Force."
Sherman said being mentally and physically prepared has led to her success.
“If you’re willing to embrace lessons, make sacrifices, swallow your pride, be patient when others struggle and continue to give everything, you will eventually overcome each obstacle."

The series will be staged in Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Napier, Wellington and Christchurch, with many performances in each city over three days.
Popular Setting Up Camp tours will also be expanded next year.
New Zealand Symphony Orchestra chief executive Peter Biggs said the orchestra's goal is to bring the greatest music ever written to as many New Zealanders as possible.
“Our multi-day Festivals in six cities and expansion of our Setting Up Camp tour from six to 15 centres next year will give audiences more choices and allow the NZSO to make deeper connections with more New Zealanders," he said.
A highlight will be Kia Kotahi, a unique performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with a new text of the famous Ode to Joy sung in Te Reo by a chorus of high school students.
The concert will also comprise new works by New Zealand artists.
American Marin Alsop, one of the world’s top conductors, will make her New Zealand debut with Kia Kotahi.
The project was originally slated for 2020, Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year.
But the impact of Covid-19 and limited government funding has meant the NZSO will not deliver to New Zealanders everything the orchestra planned to do, Biggs said.
The NZSO is cutting the number of large scale concerts next year, he said.
"We know this will sadden our many fans and supporters around the country.
"The NZSO is working hard to find a solution so we can reach those audiences."
Season subscription tickets went on sale on Friday at nzso.co.nz.

Would you be put off by a health warning at your favourite swimming spot?
Around 100 popular swimming locations across the country have been slapped with health warnings for the summer season.
Local councils reported long-term poor water quality due to the presence of algal blooms and high concentrations of sediment in popular swimming spots like Lake Rotorua, Waikanae Beach and Paraparaumu Beach. Other sites have had consistently scored so low that local councils have stopped monitoring them and have instead posted long-term warning signs against swimming there.
Swimmers that ignore signs risk gastrointestinal illnesses and respiratory diseases from water made unsafe by farm runoff, sewage contamination and high bacteria counts.
