All of them are on the Thames foreshore on land subject to substantial sea flooding under even modest sea-level rise scenarios. Will TCDC comply with new Government coastal hazard sea level rise guidelines which rule out these coastal locations?

Another storm colliding with king tides has Coromandel and Hauraki districts preparing for the worst.
The tail of tropical cyclone Fehi is due to hit just weeks after a similar event flooded homes, farmland and destroyed roads on January 5. Thames-Coromandel Civil Defence Controller Garry Towler said the tail of the cyclone was due to hit the West Coast of the South Island, but it was moving very quickly and would bring a "short, sharp sting" to the Coromandel Peninsula.
