Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand was notified on January 28 of an outbreak at a Whitianga aged residential care centre.
“Our team members did everything possible to keep our residents and team members safe," said centre operator Oceania Healthcare.

Nicole Wallace got the phone call no parent wants while she was half a world away from her son Eli.
The phone rang at 11pm in Wallace’s Reno, USA home, with police saying the 32-year-old died in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 25 in the Coromandel on January 2.
