We've had it a couple of times (Kerikeri and Whāngarei), and think it's 'hiding under a bush'.
Well worth a visit.

The pool is opening to the community again this summer from Friday 16 December util Sunday 12 March. Throughout the months of December 2022 & January 2023 we need a volunteer at the pool for 2½ hours every day from 1.30 - 4.00 pm. In the months of February & March 2023 we follow a different timetable. The pool will e closed over Christmas and New Year statutory holidays.
We would really appreciate it if you could let us know any days that you would like to volunteer for pool duty between Friday 16 December 2022 & Tuesday 31 January 2023 so that we can put together a volunteer roster.
Pool Volunteer duties -
Support the CLM life-guards as needed by -
Help put up the gazebos and take them down before you leave at 4.00pm
Allocate a wrist label to those who have paid their gold coin into the honesty box
Ensure under 3s are wearing a swim proof nappy (under 3s don’t pay, but CLM nappies are $3)
Under 5s must be within arm’s length of an adult over 16 years so both child & adult wear a red wrist band.
Record the numbers on CLM’s statistics sheets – kept with the wrist labels.
Ensure those at the pool who are not swimming respect the pool by not riding bikes or scooters around the inside of the pool, do not throw litter around, are not running around the pool surrounds and conform to appropriate poolside behaviour.
Relieve the Life-guards (one at a time) for a 15-minute break each, when there are less than 50 swimmers in the pool.
Help the life-guards ensure there are never more than 100 swimmers in the pool at one time (i.e. this may mean closing the gates to further swimmers coming in).
Bonuses for pool volunteers -
Volunteers' family has a free swim on the day that they are on volunteer duty.
Volunteers' children have 1st priority to the free swimming lessons being provided during the last 2 weeks of January 2023.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
