From next month, the regulations can mean fines for dog owners who don't have their pooches restrained on moving vehicles. Dogs on the back of a truck, trailer or ute, travelling on a public road, had to be tied up with a leash or rope, if not in a cage or crate.
Those caught breaking that law could be fined up to $900 under new Animal Welfare Regulations from next month. Read more from Stuff here

The initiative follows a similar set-up in Waimate where a produce stall was launched last month. Timaru neighbour is calling on residents to place fresh clean produce in the stall and for others to take it.
The project was about promoting healthy eating and community spirit, she said.
