Spare a thought for the animals

Another Guy Fawkes rolls around and once again i am dreading it. Every year thousands of animals are injured after being panicked by fireworks. Thousands more are not physically harmed but left traumatized by the noise. Many react as if they are about to be shot. They are terrified.
Please do not let fireworks off in open spaces where horses, sheep or other animals are grazing. Spare a thought also for your neighbours who may have a horse grazing next door, or back yard chickens who are equally terrified of fireworks. Make sure your cats and dogs are safely inside, and if you can, let your neighbours know when you are setting off fireworks so they can put their pets inside too.

As part of the Waikanae Beach stormwater upgrade, essential maintenance works requires us to temporarily turn off water supply to approximately 500 properties next THURSDAY, 10 NOVEMBER 2022 between 9am and 3pm.

Affected properties are from Waikanae Beach to Peka Peka from the intersection of Te Moana Rd and Huiawa St, Heperi St and all the way to the end of Paetawa Road and Peka Peka Beach.

The water supply may be shut down and restored at any stage between 9am and 3pm. Our crew is aiming to have some water to most properties back within 2 hours.

Following the shutdown, you may notice a milky appearance caused by air in the water, this will clear rapidly. If you have any recurring problems, please call us on 0800 486 486.

School Road Te Horo (Just up the road from Ruth Pretty's)

WHEN:- Sunday 6 November 10am - 1pm

Christmas is coming!!

A truly friendly community country market where people gather to chat, browse, score a bargain, taste some goodies and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with friends in our popup cafe along with some yummy homemade treats.

There’s an impressive range of stallholders both inside and outside with a range of arts and crafts (Baby and Toddler Ware including fairy/princess outfits, Merino Goodies and quilts) natural skincare, produce (Olive Oil, Honey, Preserves, baking etc), Junk For Joy - upcycled and repurposed furniture and homewares, Natural Health Supplements, Bric-a-Brac, books, plants, children's clothing, toys, Jigsaw puzzles and lots lots more. The ingenious Bernie’s Barrows display is back so don't miss it!!

And of course, there is our Seasonal Surplus stall where you can drop off surplus fruit and veges from your garden for sale - we sell it on your behalf and donate our percentage to local causes. Everyone wins and nothing gets wasted!

A great country market where you will find cheerful smiles and a lovely bunch of really friendly and hugely talented stallholders.

All are very very welcome at the "Best little Market in Kapiti".

Tsunamis can be deadly, but they don't have to be – early action is our best tool to protect our community, saving lives, and avoiding the hazard becoming a disaster.

The number one rule if you're in a tsunami zone is, in an earthquake, long OR strong, get gone – don't wait for official warnings.

Check your zones on our evacuation zone finder at maps.kapiticoast.govt.nz... – type in the addresses of the places you regularly go to see what zone they're in.
