This work will take about 20 weeks from 28 August 2019 to Mid-January 2020. Hours of work will generally be 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays worked if necessary. The construction work will largely be undertaken within the road reserve within Duncan Street.
Traffic management is changing throughout the project and we will continue to advise each major change of traffic management.
On 28 August, southbound traffic on Duncan Street will be detoured around the worksite via Tawa Terrace to the Tawa Street roundabout (red arrow). Northbound traffic will be one-way from the Tawa Street roundabout to the Tawa Terrace intersection (green arrow).
While work areas will be fenced off, we will make sure that you have access to your property at all times. There may be occasions when the contractor needs to gain access to your property although we’ll give you at least 24 hours’ notice of this. If you have any concerns with access, you can contact our project team anytime. On-street parking in the area alongside the worksite will be restricted and so we ask you to please not park your vehicle within the coned areas.

I have received a Neighbourly message from some woman in Age Concern asking me if I am feeling lonely, which I object to. I don't think social media is the appropriate venue for questions like that, and anyway, who wants to know? This woman is not a health professional, has no accreditation and I think she has a real hide messaging me or anyone else with such personal questions. People can be prosecuted under the Health and Disability Act for doing stuff like this, you cant just rock up to people and start talking about their mental health with no qualifications. Even more interesting, I would like to know how she got my contact details, but no reply is forthcoming. The only contact I have had with Age Concern recently is through my participation in their recent survey. I thought this participation was confidential. Are they giving their participant lists out to marketing staff? I'm sure the ethics committee would be very interested to hear about this. I'm also interested to know if anyone else received this message, and what they thought of it.
