Last Saturday morning, the Tate family went to wake up their eldest son, Jacob, but he could not be roused and was unresponsive. The family called emergency services and attempted to resuscitate him, but it was too late.
Speaking on behalf of Jacob’s parents, Rachel and Andy Tate, close friend Abby Woollaston said Jacob was a sensitive, caring and funny boy.
“He went against the flow and stood out in a crowd,” Woollaston said.

Construction sites and other disused structures around Wellington are getting facelifts, with local artists putting their touch on areas in a state of flux.
Wellington based artists Xoë Hall, Miriama Grace-Smith and Gina Kiel make up part of the Love Local: City Artwork initiative, with their work set to add vibrancy to revamps around the city.
The collaboration between Wellington City Council and WellingtonNZ has $60,000 which covers printing, installation and commission.

If you have an occasion to celebrate, they have a selection of gorgeous gateaux. The staff are friendly, service is excellent and the shop is always spotless. Dancing has so many beneficial effects on the brain that it is now being used to treat people with Parkinson’s disease, which affects about 1 in 500 Kiwis.
“Motion is lotion, getting people moving is really important,” dance leader and physiotherapist Rachel Horwell said.

Lions accepted Helen’s challenge and there are now a number of programmes that Lions are involved with worldwide, particularly in third world countries.
If you have old spectacles lying around that you dont use they may be of use to others.
Useful items are labelled, packaged and passed on to Volunteer Ophthalmologist Services Overseas (VOSO) for distribution to those with poor eyesight in the Pacific Islands.
VOSO consists of teams of eye surgeons, optometrists and eye care workers who visit the isolated communities and bring enhancement to the lives of hundreds of people annually. The project has provided over 80,000 pairs of glasses which would have a replacement value in excess of $15 million
