Did you know that a group of dedicated people are working hard to establish the Kapiti Coast as a wellbeing hub?
The vision is that we become known all over the country (and overseas) as the place to visit for wellbeing services and events.
So if you are a wellbeing provider please join the private facebook group Kāpiti Wellbeing Collective. This will keep you up to date on progress and the opportunity to list your services on the very new website www.kapitiwellbeing.nz....

The aim is to have so many services listed that it really seriously is the go to place to find what anyone wants for their wellbeing. Your help is needed.
PS. if you are already part of the collective, do list your service on the website. It's super easy to do. There is a small cost because how else do we grow and spread the word.

New Kāinga Ora state housing development in Raumati/Paraparaumu

The developer is responsible for managing all aspects of the consenting and construction process, including site preparation and delivery of the new homes.

The residences will consist of 15 two-bedroom and 11 three-bedroom homes, fully insulated, with carpets, curtains and double glazing. Each home will have a private, low-maintenance garden and two shared community gardens in the heart of the development. These new state homes are expected to be ready for local people and families to move into by late 2025.

Kāinga Ora has been working collaboratively with the developer Gibbons and Co. to ensure the homes will best meet the needs of the people and families who will live there and the community. "

We hope Kāinga Ora will stay to their word, with priority given to local people and families in need, above others relocated from outside our district.

While this development is in Ramuati, it falls under the Paraparaumu Community Board; thank you to the Raumati Community Board for sending over the information.

Our board and the Ramuati Community Board will continue to monitor this development.

Drivers get where they need to go, but sometimes it seems that we are all abiding by different road rules (for example, the varying ways drivers indicate around a roundabout).

The vernal (spring) equinox (equal night) occurred at 12.43 this morning when the sun crossed the equator into our hemisphere. It’s the time when day and night are of approximately equal length. It also means sunrise was due east and sunset will be due west.

Kāpiti’s spring was particularly early this year with most of the springing being done in August, largely due to mild night temperatures, but has turned out slightly cooler than average and much wetter.

The painting below, Spring, is by Botticelli and is one of the most famous in western art. I doubt you’ll find these goings-on in Waikanae Park though.
