Our journey began with a critical evaluation of our training and experience in servicing heat pumps, comparing it to global standards. This process led to a 'red pill moment' for our team, a realization that what was considered a full annual service in NZ was only a part of the service in other places. This prompted us to design our service, incorporating international best practices and standards, ensuring that our customers receive the most comprehensive and effective heat pump servicing.
How Clean is your heat pump air?
To explain in the most basic way, a heat pump indoor unit pulls air from the area it is in over the heat exchange; before the heat exchange, a filter captures microbes to help purify the air.
What are Microbes?
Microbes are tiny living things found all around us. They are too small to be seen by the naked eye. They live in water, soil, and air. The human body is home to millions of these microbes, also called microorganisms. Some microbes make us sick, while others are important for our health. The most common types are bacteria and fungi.
Can you guess which microbes our heat pumps collect? Yep, you guessed it—the bad ones for our health. But don't worry—it gets worse, and your heat pump can also develop black mould.
Regular filter cleaning is a good start, but it's not enough to stop all microbes. Some are so microscopic that they bypass the filter and settle on the heat exchange and fan blade. Over time, these microbes build up and can create a potent toxic soup of bacteria, fungi, and black mould in your heat pump. This can be highly detrimental to the health of the elderly, children, and folks with breath issues such as asthma or who are immune-compromised, hindering their ability to recover from health issues. It’s great to see that work is on schedule, on budget and it is looking amazing, looking forward to the skate park being a regional draw card again as it used to be when it was in its prime, more visitors to the area is a positive for the our local beach businesses!

I've not been on a skateboard since the 90s, but today, walking through the soonish to be completed new skatepark in Paraparaumu, I had a massive urge to drop into the bowl. But at my age, I would probably break a hip or someone else's and no one wants that 😆
I think the Kapiti Coast District Council staff and the team at Angus McMillan Concrete have done an outstanding job and I can't wait to hear how our youth and our visitors to the area love the new park, which is due to open in the new year🛹🛹🛹
There will be colour in the concrete, art by local graffiti artists and I'm hoping that KCDC will put on a public BBQ for everyone when the park is officially opened... 🛹🍖🌭

Ngarara Rd residents are alarmed that a 20 dwelling development at 14-16 Ngarara Rd has been approved by the KCDC via an unnotified consent. New rules have abolished the special area designation and will allow multiple homes on tiny sections. We want the previous existing protections reinstated and for the KCDC to publicly notify the residents so that relevant objections in a public arena can be made where necessary.
