The 100km/h speed limit will drop to 60km/h from the Manukau Memorial Gardens to 300 metres west of Orrs Road.

The new bus lanes between Pukaki Creek Bridge and the state highway 20 interchange will support electric buses running between the airport, Puhinui rail and bus interchange and Manukau.

Cars with three or more occupants can use the bus/ T3 priority lanes to ease congestion.

In 2019, French teenager Eloi Rolland arrived in New Zealand to study. He partied, got a job and made friends. But six months later he disappeared without a trace. A year on, police say “his fate remains unknown” and his case looks set to be referred to the coroner. Caroline Williams reports.

During his time in Auckland, Rolland went to the zoo, enjoyed nights out, worked at a popular bar, dabbled in modelling and, with friends, visited Piha on the rugged west coast.

Before his disappearance, Rolland expressed to his family that he wished to visit Piha again, and on March 6 last year, he did just that.

He has not been seen or heard from since.

“Each day we feel more and more worried and more helpless," his father Thierry Rolland tells Stuff.

Around the country, the demand for property continues to outstrip supply, driving record median prices even higher. In Auckland - where an average house price of over $1m has seen it ranked the fourth least-affordable city in the world - some properties sit empty and unmaintained.

Last week I reported on some of Auckland's mysterious million dollar dumps, and I'm sure there are plenty more out there. If you live near an empty, derelict property and are curious about it, I'd love to hear from you - flick me an email at caroline.williams@stuff.co.nz
