We're compiling a travel piece on great honesty boxes and roadside stalls around NZ, and would love to hear your favourites. Is there somewhere you enjoy stopping off at for fresh fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, flowers, or something else? It would be great if you could share it's location and what makes it a standout. Please put 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it or your name to appear in the article. You're also very welcome to email me at lorna.thornber@stuff.co.nz
Thank you for taking the time to share.

So what is an Urban Orchard?
• People who have fruit trees in their gardens who don’t have the time, interest or ability to look after them, share their trees with those who would love to have fruit trees to look after and harvest.
• The trees are cared for, they produce more, and the fruit is shared.
• The project will operate on the permaculture ethical principles of “earth care, people care and fair shares for all”.
Interested? We are launching a pilot project in the Manurewa and Gardens area on Sunday 8 October, 10:00am at the Beautifcation Trust, 38 Holmes Rd, Manurewa. We will be running a workshop/brainstorming session to decide how we will work together on the project, followed by lunch and a working bee on a fi g tree in Wattle Downs. Visit www.urbanorchard.nz... to learn more or contact us via info@urbanorchard.nz.
If you don’t live near Manurewa but are interested in the concept and setting up an Urban Orchard in your area – do email info@urbanorchard.nz to let us know.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Linda and Laurence

Together they offer high-resolution capture, continuous 5 fps shooting, low-light sensitivity to an expandable ISO 25600, and HD 1080p video recording.
The sensor design removes the traditional optical low-pass filter for optimum sharpness and resolution, and an 11-point autofocus system provides quick and accurate focusing capabilities. A range of shooting modes and features are also available, including an Easy Panorama mode as well as Picture Control settings for in-camera adjustments. For added illumination use the built-in pop-up flash or connect an optional external flash via the hot shoe for even greater lighting control.
Full HD 1920 x 1080p movie recording is supported in multiple frame rates up to 60 fps, as well as HD 720p and SD 480p in multiple frame rates, in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. During recording, full-time autofocus is available, with face-detection and subject-tracking capabilities, for ensured sharpness with a wide variety of subject types. A built-in monaural microphone can be used to record high-quality sound or, alternatively, a microphone input is integrated into the body design to support the use of an external microphone for enhanced quality and control.
For live view monitoring, image playback and menu navigation, a large 3.0" 921k-dot LCD monitor is available and features a wide 160° viewing angle for working from high and low angles. Alternatively, a bright pentamirror optical viewfinder provides precise eye-level viewing and real-time monitoring. Also enhancing the viewing and shooting abilities of the D3300, the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter can be used to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for wirelessly transferring imagery and remotely controlling the camera from a linked Android or iOS mobile device.

Our timber care products are a result of our drive for the very best in wooden furniture maintenance an restoration. Our Cedarwood and Beeswax furniture polish is a traditional polish recipe with no thinners, polyurethanes or chemicals of any sort. It is simply coconut oil from a local wholesaler, beeswax from a local beekeeper and some essential oils (including Himalayan cedar wood oil). These ingredients are mixed in the perfect ratio for conditioning and polishing your timber furniture. (The ratios and what the oils are - that's a secret sorry)
Before we get into the usage instructions, please remember the cardinal rule of all furniture care treatments - spot check in an inconspicuous place first!
To use, simply scoop some polish on to a soft lint-free cloth and rub the wax into the timber in the direction of the grain. Leave to condition the wood for 3-4 minutes (longer if the wood is very old and dry) and the buff off the residue with a second, clean lint-free cloth. For pieces of furniture with a large build up of dirt or where the existing polish is in bad shape, you can use 0000 steel wool for the application step.
One more thing to note - this is not a penetrating or seasoning wax. Cedarwood & Beeswax Furniture Polish is best used on pieces of furniture with an existing finish.
Listing is for 1 x 135g (+-) pot of SR&R Cedarwood & Beeswax Furniture Polish.
SR&R. Solid timber furniture restoration and repair specialists, with an in-house timber care range of products.
