As I put out the recycling today in Palmerston North, I see (as is common after the holiday period) that some of us have lost track of which week is our turn for the Glass Crate or the Recycling Wheelie Bin to be put out for collection.
Also, if you have new neighbours moved in over the Christmas/New Year period, they may not yet be sure about which day of the week to put rubbish bags out.
Never mind, it is easy to find Rubbish Collection and Recycling information and times for your address, on the respective Council websites;
Can I also ask that Please, do NOT overfill the wheelie bins, the lid MUST be properly closed and not bulging, otherwise our famous Manawatu winds blow the lid open and then blow your cardboard and plastic all down the street!
For PN City residents - PN City Council
General info - also links to what is rubbish, and what can be recycled;
www.pncc.govt.nz...
What day for my street; type in your address;
www.neighbourly.co.nz...
and on the results page, they give you the correct download link, for either the Week 1 or Week 2 PDF wall calendar that covers the current 12 months.
For all other Manawatu residents - Manawatu District Council;
General Info;
www.mdc.govt.nz...
What day for my street/village; type in your address;
www.mdc.govt.nz...
and there is a download link on that page to the MDC Recycling Wall Calendar PDF too.
I hope that helps ease the confusion! and if a neighbour has got the wrong day, or the wrong bin, be a good neighbour and let them know what the details are for your street!

We will now only offer the $12 value and $20 premium orders as there was simply not enough demand locally to make the $36.50 whanau boxes economic.
Please also note we want to eliminate plastic bags from our hub and so have moved to plastic tubs for ease of packing at St Matthews and Te Tihi. So please bring your own bags or a box to transfer your produce from our tubs when you pick up your order at these locations. For hospital orders we will pack into spare produce boxes when we have them available after packing.
This week the value bags are expected to contain cabbage, potatoes, carrots, plums, peaches and apricots. Add in onions, corn and bananas for the premium bags. The deal of the week is Blueberries $2 a punnet. Note the website says $3 but the price is $2 and when you place a DOTW order the price shows as $2..
Why not order now at foodtogether.co.nz... and so that you don't miss out on the midday Tuesday close off for online orders.
There will be a lucky draw for a free $20 order for anyone who orders this week. Winner will be drawn on Thursday so free order will be for next week.
