There were so many in Palmy, nothing quite like them now. Does anyone remember these and a place called Cone and Candy on the corner of Princess and Broadway. Some of the tea rooms I remember were Betsy Lee, Upstairs Downstairs, the little one next to the Regent, (can't remember it's name) The Loft in Broadway Mall, Stafford Arcade, Wedgewood Lounge in DIC and PDC and the tea rooms in the store McKenzie's. Just some reminiscing for you. What great times. I really miss those tea rooms with the great food and remember before these fancy coffees, the coffee they used to have in the percolator with whipped cream, yum yum! Would love to hear your memories too. Have a great day everyone ๐Ÿ˜€

This year's event runs from March 20 - 30th with the theme being 'The Great Plant Swap' as an easy way for neighbourhoods to grow stronger together.

Here's some ideas for ways you could get involved:

โ€ข swap seeds with a neighbour
โ€ข gift a plant you've grown to a neighbour
โ€ข take some flowers to a neighbour
โ€ข organise a produce swap
โ€ข share garden tips or recipes for food in season
โ€ข create community gardens or berm pollinator pathways
โ€ข host an inclusive garden-themed working bee
โ€ข a friendly neighbourhood BBQ with homegrown ingredients

The options are endless! At the end of the day, our shared aim is to help bring people together by encouraging intentional connection with our neighbours. Whether that be organising a street party, sharing a cuppa, or simply saying โ€˜Kia Ora!โ€ to those who live around you, every action helps to create a safer and more connected New Zealand.
