Poll: Will a rāhui over the Dome Valley proposed landfill site count without iwi co-operation?
Dome Valley residents will gather at dawn on Saturday for a rāhui over the proposed landfill site. However, local iwi Ngati Manuhiri said the Fight The Tip Commitee doesn't have mana to place the rāhui, despite insight from an appointed Māori liaison. The iwi won't stop the rāhui going ahead, but said any rāhui placed over the land without Ngati Manuhiri co-operation would be "irrelevant" under Māori customary law. What do you think? Vote in our poll and let us know in the comments.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
