624 people were seen over five days with nearly 70% needing glasses. Amazingly, 150 people attending the clinics were are able to leave with their new glasses which were manufactured on site!
OneSight Programme Manager for Australia/New Zealand Jenny Harnett says it was an honour to partner with The Salvation Army to deliver these clinics to communities in need. “We believe that glasses unlock potential, providing opportunities for students to learn, for people to work and earn a living, to drive, to read, and to support their families."
Thanks again OneSight!

Each of the five beautifully appointed suites has been subtly themed, providing individual charm as well as comfort. In the heart of the lodge is a spacious, recently renovated farmhouse kitchen enjoying garden and orchard views. A large woodburner with wetback heats the water for a series of radiators around the house, ensuring year-round warmth.

The small Chardonnay vineyard with a careful selection of clones produces a succulent house wine thoroughly enjoyed by guests from all around the world.
A range of useful ancillary sheds and buildings offers space for projects, hobbies, storage and accommodation for staff. Other facilities on the property include a petanque court, croquet lawn and small gymnasium overlooking the swimming pool.

They had broken into the shed at the old Art House and stole a childs couch. The perpetrators had came back today between the hours of 9.30am and 1.30pm and stole two big clear click clack boxes of art supplies(including, match sticks, pom poms, ice block sticks(coloured) paint, etc) and the matching chair for the couch. I am asking parents, nannies, koro's, and all whānau/family's to keep an eye out for these. If any of your whānau/family or kids have come home with these or you have seen these furniture or art supplies I ask that you report them to the police or drop the furniture and supplies off at Te Pou Oranga o Whākatohea ki Buchanan Street/Te Aria toka preschool.
Earlychildhood education is for the benefit of all our tamariki and whānau of the Whākatohea rohe and this is just another setback for our preschool that we don't need. So everyone please keep your eyes and ears open. Thank you. Here is a picture of the couch and chair that were stolen are covered in dark brown vinyl.
