Student Stars concert postponed - again!

The Student Stars concert had been postponed to 5th September. But with COVID level 2 now extended to Sunday 6th September (at least), we have regrettably had to again postpone this concert. It is now scheduled to be held on Sunday October 18th at 3pm, in Theatre Royal.

The Student Stars concert had been postponed to 5th September. But with COVID level 2 now extended to Sunday 6th September (at least), we have regrettably had to again postpone this concert. It is now scheduled to be held on Sunday October 18th at 3pm, in Theatre Royal.

Tickets are available from Ticketek, and anyone already holding tickets can use these on 18th October. If you can't attend the concert then, Ticketek will issue a refund.

This concert features 12 "Student Stars" playing with the combined Taranaki Symphony and Youth Orchestras and features some very exciting music.

The Ministry for Primary Industries has issued a recall for two varieties of yellow flesh peaches due to the possible presence of Salmonella enteritidis.

What you need to know:

Primor Produce Ltd and Turners and Growers fresh Ltd yellow flesh peaches sold between 10 July to 25 August 2020 should not be consumed due to the presence of the bacteria.

ALL yellow flesh peaches imported from the United States should not be consumed if purchased between 10 July to 25 August.

The products are sold in New World, Pak'n Save, Gilmours and Four Square stores across the North Island.

Auckland lockdown extended until Sunday, rest of country to stay at level 2

Auckland will remain in lockdown until Sunday, a four-day extension of the lockdown which was meant to lift on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there were promising signs that the Government was getting on top of the virus, but a short extension was recommended by director-general of health Ashley Bloomfield.

On Sunday night Auckland would move down to level 2. The rest of the country would stay at level 2.

Ardern said the rest of the country needed to stay at an elevated alert level to mitigate the risk of cases leaving Auckland when interregional travel resumed. Click here to read more.
