Hi neighbours,

We're looking to chat to different parents in different circumstances from the last 40 years about their choice to stay at home or return to work and see what influenced it and how that has changed.

In June 2020 12.7% of all people not in the work force reported that their main activity was looking after a child - in 1986 it was 21%.

If you fall into one of the below categories, or know someone that does, and are happy to chat please get in touch via direct message or email stephanie.ockhuysen@stuff.co.nz.

- New parents who have chosen to stay home with children aged 3-5.

Five out of 10 public holidays will be Mondayised (or Tuesdayised in one case) next year, which means if you work a standard Monday to Friday week, you can look forward to some extended breaks.

In fact, once you’ve tacked on the weekends, you’ll end up getting a whopping 25 days off out of those 10 stat days, plus your region’s anniversary day.

Next General meeting October Wednesday 14th 1,30pm Brooklands Church Bideford St
Guest Speaker Trish Rankin , NZ Dairy Woman of the Year 2019 and recent Kellogg Rural Leaders Scholar will paint the picture as to why NZ is the possible to the 'impossible' customer. The consumers that buy alternative plant based protein want better outcomes for their health, planet and animals, NZ is in a prime position to achieve this. Trish will also discuss the concept of Circular Economy, the journey NZ is taking on this and how she is applying it to the rural sector. Hope to see you all along……lockdowns permitting!
