FREE Treaty of Waitangi Workshop
There's an interesting workshop coming up on the 29th of April about the Treaty of Waitangi and New Zealand history. It's targeted at migrants, facilitators, teachers and community leaders and takes up almost a full day (9am-3pm), including workshops and activities. It's organized by Migrant Connections. It's a nice opportunity for those of us who are not very familiar with these important topics just yet.
Thursday April 29th, 9am-3pm
Taranaki Community Law meeting room, Level 1
Vero Building
10 Devon St East
To RSVP, send an email to mctnz@xtra.co.nz before the 20th of April. Attached is the event flyer.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
