All loose fruit and veg were put in netting bags (my wife made 7 for $5) and a couple where plastic bags could not be avoided were emptied out at checkout into the same netting bags and the plastic containers given to the checkout operator with a message for the manager. I know some people think this sort of action is a waste of time but every little bit helps get the message across.

I believe he also does great job on the mountain. There are quite a few of us however that perform a similar service. There is always room for new volunteers so all you have to do is grab a bag the next time you go for a walk and add to your own rubbish or recycling when you get back home.
