The effects of the manipulation of Interest rates to the detriment of ordinary Kiwis and their offspring; the unmandated and the inflationary practices of recent administrations has seen us pass a crisis point. Apart from a recent pathetic attempt to address is there any interest in solving problem. A good start would be an agreement to concentrate on making property affordable to all including future generations. We need to reverse our reducing home ownership trend and enable it to climb again. Renting must also be affordable but this will only get worse the way we are going.

Poll: Is the letterbox obsolete?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With online being the main mode of communication these days, it's no wonder that there has been a worldwide mail decline and here in Aotearoa, NZ Post has needed to lay off 750 full-time staff. Do you think it's time to say goodbye to the trusty letterbox?

OK Boomers led by Andy Bassett are a group of friends who combine harmony vocals with guitar & bass (Andy Bassett), ukulele (Bev Tatham),
Ukulele & banjo (Tony Hansen), saxophone ( Peter Hickey) and percussion Damian Gilmour). The play music not bound by genre - anything from Gerry Rafferty to Jenny Mitchell, George Gershwin to George Michael. Toe tapping stuff!
They were very popular at last years lunchtime concert and also at Kou Project and the TSB Festival of Lights.
At Methodist Centre (Whiteley Memorial Church) next Wednesday 9th August, 12.15 pm. Koha appreciated.

Like the latest Genesis Power report format and new plans.

Charles from Lynmouth - Moturoa

Not sure whether they are any cheaper but if all power companies adopted the same power cost estimating format it would be easier to compare companies. Supposedly Powershop do this for you but being able to see for yourself and compare like for like would be great.

Neighbourly held an excellent survey to determine the peoples wishes with regard to the proposed speed limitation to 30kph.

Charles from Lynmouth - Moturoa

There was a resounding result with 3 quarters of respondents voting against.
Look forward to Neighbourly taking this further. An article in all the daily newspapers would be a good start.
