We'd love to hear about the great places you've discovered over your summer holidays, whether it's somewhere local or on a trip away. Did you come across a particularly amazing beach, camping ground, town, walk or scenic spot? What made it so special? Any activities or places to eat and drink you can recommend in the area would also be much appreciated. As usual, please include 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article.

"VOTE FOR THE SAVAGE MAYOR"
Scott Savage from Brooklands - Vogeltown
Its always good for some change, thanks for the service of the mayors before me. I think you the public do not care anymore as I went to the last meeting of the year and it would seem the nobody turned up and those that did were either media or people like myself that are feed up with the lies, nobody had the balls to stand up to these lies though. That was because your all being controlled by the machine, wake up! Some good things are being done by the council but after walking around the area I have noticed where our rates have not been going! bridges and all!

She had four children one a daughter named Sharon Jane Barker who is the person I would very much like to get in contact with. Sharon posted a message on Ancestry in 2002 for any information on living relations in the UK. A relative of mine in the UK stumbled on the message as he was researching his tree which includes the husband of Shirley Madeline a William Peter Barker. He did reply to the message but got no reply, so asked, being as I live in NZ if I could help him find Sharon. So I am putting this out to all of Taranaki and hopefully someone out there will be able to help me with my mission. Thank you, Teresa Barker.

Does anybody know if there is a partition going around to stop the closure of the TSB Fitzroy Branch. To me, it is a bad move by our local bank to close this branch. We are now told that we will be able to use Bell Block Branch or go into the middle of town to the Centre Branch. Good luck with that?? Tell that to all the elderly people who have been living in Fitzroy and surrounding suburbs for many years. Just how these people are going to get to these branches is mind boggling. All they want to do is go and get cash out from a teller - not a machine sticking out of a wall that they have trouble using - stand in a queue at the supermarket and see how well older people go at using their card.
The TSB has always been about people and the connectivity between customers and staff - not customers and machines or faceless people at the end of a phone (at least their phone operators I believe are here in New Plymouth and not some far off land)
Come on TSB, get back to the basics and look after your customers. Remember they pay your wages.
