Why Are There No Lies in this Election Campaign?
Reading through the responses to 'that ad' by the Nelson Citizen Alliance - you know the one that the Nelson Weekly had to apologise for - I find all these pussy-footing words like 'disinformation', something that 'holds no truth', etc very interesting.
Are we not allowed to say 'Lies' any more?
Now there's a word that every kid understands.
Dirty deliberate lies, that were designed to twist the outcome of the election, timed to do the most damage possible.
And every kid also knows how far to trust anybody who behaves like that!
Come on Nelson, if you haven't voted yet, grab your papers and show them!
Vote for those who were attacked. And who have never used dirty tactics like that!
Here they are:
Matt Lawrey
Rachel Sanson
Rohan O'Neill-Stevens
Aaron Stallard and
Pete Rainey

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
Do you think this ban is reasonable?
