It may be that they make an effort to welcome new neighbours, or do practical things to help people in the neighbourhood. Or it may be that they organise neighbourhood BBQs, or galvanise people to tackle neighbourhood issues.
Well here’s your chance to acknowledge what they do. Neighbourhood Support Nelson wants to recognise such people, so we’re inviting nominations for our annual Neighbourhood Champion awards.
To nominate someone fill out a nomination form at nsnelson.org...
Nominations close at 5pm on September 5 and the awards will be presented at our AGM on September 18.
Award winners will be presented with Mitre 10 Mega gift vouchers, and certificates.

We had a fantastic night last Friday with over 100 people viewing the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Several deep sky objects were also viewed. The new 14inch scope gives very impressive views. We also had a couple of 8inch scopes which are also nice to use. This coming Friday will be good as Mars is at it's closest for 15years hence much bigger in the scopes than usual although to be honest nothing beats Saturn through the big scope. 7-9pm. Your better off coming at 8pm or so as there will be less people. The astronomical society charges $5 per person or $15 family which covers maintenance, power insurance etc.

I thought you might be interested in a fundraising event that we have coming up for Electrix Cheerleading.
The great Dave Upfold, Stage Hypnotist. Saturday 11th August 7 - 9 pm at Nelson College for Girls.
As seen on TV3's "Campbell Live" program, Dave Upfold is known for his energetic, engaging and enthralling live shows. Dave's shows feature audience participation and utilise the power of the mind and suggestion. With no two shows ever being the same Dave has been entertaining audiences around the world with his hypnosis comedy show for over 20 successful years.
All who come to his shows laugh so much and feel so good that they may even walk away with a renewed sense of humanity, and generally a sore stomach from so much laughter.
This is one comedy stage hypnosis show you must see. Laughter is the best medicine.
We are raising funds to help our athletes get to competitions in the North Island.
Tickets can be bought directly through me, via electrixcheerteam@gmail.com or on www.eventfinda.co.nz...
I hope to see you there
Regards
Maxine
