Often this wood is either treated or painted, which is illegal to burn.
If you burn it you will be causing air pollution and are likely to get a visit from our compliance officers. If you need firewood, Good Wood suppliers are still open as essential services.
Give them a call, and they will deliver – you can find their details here nelson.govt.nz/good-wood.
Remember to follow their lockdown protocols to keep everyone safe.

The most significant businesses that will feel an instant hit, no doubt, is your local cafe or coffee cart. Just a thought. That $4.50 (more for a double shot!) that we rarely think twice about spending, makes a huge difference to our small business cafe owners when you multiply that by the amount of customers they are losing per day. The impact is huge. Why not put your daily coffee money aside, put the kettle on at home, and when this is all over, donate the money, however small, to your local cafe. We all know they are an important part of our Nelson culture...now is an opportunity to pay this back. Places like @jokerespresso with ever smiling Tracy and @bobbyfranks with the gorgeous Kira deserve to be remembered in all this! We will be back!
