I have had quite a few different experiences, helping with horses and leading clients, working on the grounds, mucking out, fundraising and being part of the committee. Now I mainly run the muck pile and a garden. I have found the experience very rewarding and enjoyable. The team at the Riding for the Disabled, managers and other volunteers are very friendly and supportive.
They are still looking for more help so that they can reach more children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges by interactions with horses.
There is more information on the RDA website.

Cut the Pumpkin into quarters, scoop out the seeds, then wash and dry them. The seeds have no husk so can be eaten straight away. Lots of uses and you can try saving the seed and grow your own next summer. Otherwise order them from Kings Seeds.
The pumpkin itself is fairly bland so I just compost mine.
Your child may need help with cutting the pumpkin open. Otherwise just use commonsense or Google.
Available at Napier RDA, 61 Sandy Road or ask about deliveries.
All proceeds got to the Napier Riding For the Disabled.
Thank you.

Day after day love turns grey like the skin on a dying man, yet night after night we pretend it's alright but I have grown older and you have grown colder and nothing is very much fun anymore.

National Volunteer Week (17-23 of June 2018)
celebrates the 1.2 million Kiwis who are volunteering their time and skills to our communities every year.
The theme this year is Volunteers, The Heart of our Community – By many, the work will be completed, Mā tini, mā mano, ka rapa te whai.
We think this captures the essence of what volunteering is about. This is a time to acknowledge how volunteering efforts contribute to and enrich all communities within Aotearoa.

"We have seen so many hidden gems of New Zealand that we would never have seen if we were still living in a house," says Lynette.
Does the idea of selling up to make a big life change appeal to you? What changes would you like to make?
