Victorious BPW Franklin
Several members of BPW Franklin attended the National BPW Conference in Wellington in April and were thrilled to be awarded the Brooker Award for the fabulous Suffrage 125 event that was lead by BPW Franklin last September.
It was also because of the huge involvement of the Franklin community which made it all so successful. BPW Franklin says a big, Thank you, to you all the community. BPW is a great organisation to belong to and any woman who would like to attend a dinner meeting is warmly invited. The next dinner meeting will be on 22nd May and the speaker will be Caz Hurst who will explain Mindfulness. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
