Inspector Joe Hunter, Counties Manukau South Area Commander, said police were called to the beach over Easter due to reports of two vehicles “driving dangerously”.
“The motorists’ behaviour was of particular concern to police given the beach was very busy at the time with families enjoying their long weekend.”
Karioitahi Beach is one of only two beaches in the Auckland region which is listed as a designated road, the other being Muriwai in West Auckland.
