Coming home from night shift on Thursday morning, our lovely letterbox had been defaced.
Not happy with my removal of this defacing/graffiti, they came back on Saturday morning and using a vehicle (possibly a white Ute) they pushed our letterbox over breaking its leg.
Please if anyone saw any of this activity, contact Steve on 027 294 2165 or the nearest Police station. This is not the first time our lovely letterboxes have been targeted. We know who you are, just need the proof to nail this piece of sh....

In April 1948, a small band of theatre enthusiasts got together at a private residence to form the society. Little would they have ever dreamed their successors would continue to attract sell-out houses some three score years and ten later.
After a series of different make-shift venues in the first 30 years, the society set up permanent residence at 13 Aubrey St in 1978 and, with the addition of a new octagonal auditorium (hence "The Octagon"), new life was breathed into the old villa.
Each year around 2,200 patrons enjoy the shows thanks to an ever-growing band of individuals passionate about the performing arts. They give freely of their time to source, research, direct and produce popular plays.
Topped off with affordable menus and a tipple or two served by dining and bar volunteers, it is a recipe for success that has stood the test of time.
The Society embraces the challenges to keep pace with millennium demands and, continually, rejuvenates itself with new faces, new ideas and new technology in order to future-proof its longevity.
As a non-profit charitable organisation managed by volunteers it relies heavily on donations, grants, membership fees and even bequests. The theatre and land are now freehold but insurance premiums and rates bite hard. And while a heroic treasurer constantly juggles the finances, it's the dedicated band of volunteers and loyal patrons that ensures the shows continue to go on.

NZ Police Cybercrime Unit Detective Sergeant Damian Rapira-Davies said it was a variation on previous scams seen by police, where the scammers claim to be from a widely recognised organisation in order to gain the victim's trust. Rapira-Davies advised people not to engage with anyone on the phone if you think you are being scammed. "Hang up immediately and report the incident."

More projects than ever are being supported through the Kai Ora Fund to make healthy food available and support sustainable community and economic growth in Northland. There are three new partners, two new regions covered, a record number of applications, and 26 new projects funded.
The fund … View moreMore projects than ever are being supported through the Kai Ora Fund to make healthy food available and support sustainable community and economic growth in Northland. There are three new partners, two new regions covered, a record number of applications, and 26 new projects funded.
The fund is a partnership between Far North District Council, Te Tai Tokerau PHO, Te Puni Kōkiri, Northland Inc, and Manaia Health PHO. Since beginning in 2015, Kai Ora has funded 56 projects.
Spokesperson Ngaire Rae said the number and quality of applications this year was impressive. "It's very exciting to see the energy and passion in the community around local food. We can't wait to see what this round of projects will achieve."
New projects include the set-up of a cooperative food mart in the Hokianga, watercress growing, creation of backyard garden boxes in 50 homes in Kawakawa, start-up of a youth-led mobile smoothie bar in Kaitaia, and school-based garden-to-table programmes. The project teams made connections with each other at recent Kai Ora workshops and many will now work together to make an even bigger impact.
Daniela Johnson, Kai Ora coordinator at Te Tai Tokerau PHO, says that the fund will run again next year. "We're keen to hear from groups interested in applying in the future or interested in contributing to current projects."
Johnson says that Kai Ora aims to fund projects that will make healthy, local, sustainable food easily available throughout Tai Tokerau. "We're here to encourage and support those who share this dream and passion," she says.
